GESI Giga Batteries founds scientific advisory board

With Maximilian Fichtner and Christof Wittwer, two leading scientists are joining the new committee. Pullach, June 7. The guiding principle of “listen to the science” also applies to the energy transition. GESI Giga Batteries has therefore set up a scientific advisory board and recruited two professors for this task: Christof Wittwer heads the System Integration […]
Hydrogen and large batteries: On the road to coexistence?

The power plant strategy has increased the chance of an efficient technology mix: Gas and hydrogen for longer dark doldrums, large batteries for short-term demand. The sun and wind traditionally lack consistency, which poses a major challenge for the energy transition: To compensate for daily fluctuations, Germany needs electricity reserves for at least two hours. […]
Study proves the economic benefits of large-scale batteries

The experts at Frontier Economics are forecasting a plus in the billions – primarily due to falling emissions and lower expenditure on fossil fuels. Large batteries benefit the economy and society far more than they cost. This is the key finding of a recent study by the international economic consultancy Frontier Economics (FE) on the […]
Entrepreneurs and top managers found Green Energy Storage Initiative (GESI SE)

Business is driving the energy transition forward: following intensive preparations, a group of entrepreneurs and top managers founded the Green Energy Storage Initiative (GESI SE) this week. “Our goal is to accelerate the energy transition by building large storage capacities for green electricity, reduce the number of new fossil gas-fired power plants and save up to five million tons of CO2 per year,” says initiator Martin Schoeller.
